You cannot describe IODIO as a traditional
Greek fish tavern, neither a restaurant. You can likely
call it a greek seafood trattoria.
IODIO has now completed 6 years in operation. Like every
year, we would like to present you our renewed menu,
which contains a number of our ‘good old’ dishes, as
well as a few new ideas, which our kitchen brigade has
worked on during the course of last year.
We indeed like to constantly improve and renew ourselves,
as well as to use seasonal ingredients. For this reason
we continuously experiment, either through ‘dishes
of the day’ or through your well-known .‘OIN…ODIA’,
special food and wine tasting events, which we organize
every now and then.
We cook fish & seafood dishes, being
inspired by the Greek cuisine, which we fully adore
and recognize. Some times we execute the relevant
recipes ‘by the book’ and other times we may add our
own twist, looking towards a more creative version.
Our main aim is to use genuine Greek products
and materials, such as mastic, saffron, olives, cappers,
fresh tomatoes, virgin olive oil, ouzo, tsipouro (Greek
grappa), giant beans, chickpeas, sesame pulp, honey,
molasses, wild Cretan greens, yoghurt, Greek cheeses
etc. However, we will not be afraid to borrow ingredients
and ideas from our neighbor Mediterranean cuisines,
which anyway are very close to the Greek mentality,
or from any other cuisine of our planet, if this may
suit us.
